KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 (Bernama) — The politicisation of the lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender (LGBT) issue should be resisted as it could affect
faith of the future generation, said Fiqh Contemporary Studies Centre chairman
Nasharudin Mat Isa.
He said the issue was beyond politics as the LGBT was against the norms of
the society.
“We must not pursue development to the extend of indulging in a negative
Western culture,” he told reporters after presenting a paper at a discourse on
the LGBT organised by Pertubuhan Muafakat Sejahtera Masyarakat Malaysia here
today.
Nasharudin, who is former PAS deputy president, said the sexual perversion
could spread and invite the wrath of God if not contained.
“The sexual disorder can become cancerous that will spread and threaten and
destroy the fabric of the society,” he said.

He said all quarters should work together to ensure that the younger
generation, who would be future leaders, would not develop LGBT tendencies to
ensure that the country would be led by people of good and commendable
character.
Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council”s Legal Bureau committee
member Mahamad Naser Disa said all parties should uphold the teachings of Islam
and defend the religion against blasphemy and sacrilege by the LGBT group.
He deplored attempts by certain quarters to come to the defence of the LGBT
group by clamouring in support of their rights.
“This is like popularising the perverted group by coming to their defence
despite the sexual orientation is forbidden by all religions and against the
law,” he said.
